Earth Day!
Not many people know, but April 22nd is Earth Day! This day is as important now as it has ever been. Our planet is being destroyed beyond repair, and if significant action isn't taken soon, earth as we know it will be no more sooner than we think. I read the "Wonder of the Day" article about Earth Day, and then used that and my own ideas to come up with ways to celebrate Earth Day in the classroom!
1. Integrate art projects
2. Make signs around the school
3. Create a school garden
4. Pick up garbage from around the school
5. Go to other classes and present to them why Earth Day is important
6. Hold an Earth Day assembly
7. Create a skit that shows why we need to be celebrate Earth Day every day
As you can see, there are tons of examples of things to do with students to celebrate Earth Day! Every person can do something to help out our planet, no matter what age. Make sure to check out this video I linked below as well. It quickly discusses how Earth Day got started and how we can celebrate it every day!
