Last Day of Fieldwork Reflection

I was sad to see that the time my had class at Bishop Dunn with the second-graders was running out. On the last fay of fieldwork, after a group of my peers had finished teaching, all of the teachers stood in front of the second-graders. Each student was given a certificate to congratulate them on all of their hard work. The students were also given pencils, erasers, and stickers, which my class wanted to give to them just as a little thank you. The classroom teacher, Mr. Kimbark was also given a gift to thank him for allowing us to work with his class. Mr. Kimbark was extremely helpful to all of us this semester, so my class wanted to make sure he got something to recognize that. The students were thrilled to get recognized for their work, but just like us, I think they were a little bit sad to see us go. My class formed somewhat of a bond with the second-graders, and I'm sure we'll all miss teaching them. After the students got their gifts, we all reflected on what we learned this semester from each other. Most second-graders agreed that they learned economics from us, and we agreed that from teaching them we all learned about time management and teaching different types of lessons. This was an awesome experience, and I hope that I get to teach again at Bishop Dunn School!
